DD Audio has released the DSI-X2, an 8-channel digital signal processor aimed at installers and owners who want serious tuning control without wiring up a laptop. The unit is set up and controlled entirely through a Bluetooth-connected app for Android and iOS, and it carries an IPX7 waterproof rating aimed at marine, powersports, and off-road builds.
Inside the app, the DSI-X2 offers 15-band parametric EQ, automatic time-alignment calculations based on listening-position distances, and phase correction — the same category of tools found on higher-end standalone processors, wrapped in a simpler interface with a physical master volume remote. DD Audio is pitching it at everyone from first-time DSP users to installers who want a faster, repeatable tuning workflow.
Why it matters for tuning: distance-based "automatic" time alignment and EQ suggestions are a useful starting point, not a finished tune. They get you close, but cabin reflections, speaker placement, and channel-to-channel level differences still show up in an actual in-car RTA sweep. Treat the app's auto-calculated values as a first pass, then verify and adjust against a real measurement before calling the install done.
