The dB Drag Racing Association has confirmed the shape of its 29th Annual North American Finals, and it is not a single-venue event. Competition runs October 3–4 at two locations — Indianapolis, Indiana, and Spruce Grove, Alberta — with entrants at both sites competing as part of the same North American Finals. Regional Championship competition takes place on the Saturday, followed by Championship competition on the Sunday.
The association also named Recoil Audio as the Exclusive Championship Ring Sponsor for the 2026 Finals, in an announcement dated September 4 out of Austin, Texas. The championship ring is the trophy competitors chase across a whole season, and the sponsorship puts Recoil's name on the ring itself as well as on event shirts, sponsor banners, and the Championship Awards Ceremony. Recoil Audio is a relatively recent arrival in the category, selling amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers, wiring and accessories.
The Indianapolis venue is the busier of the two: the dBDRA says it will also serve as a multi-organization championship hub, co-locating with IASCA and ISPLL. That matters if you compete in more than one series, because a shared weekend is the difference between one trip and three — though it also means a lane full of vehicles all trying to make noise in the same parking lot at the same time.
Why it matters for tuning: SPL competition and sound-quality tuning pull in opposite directions, and it is worth being clear about which one you are doing before you start changing things. A dB Drag car is optimised for one number at one frequency at one microphone position — enclosure, port tuning, and vehicle resonance are all aimed at the burp, and everything else is expendable. Nothing about that transfers to a daily-driver system where you want a flat-ish response at the driver's ear across ten octaves. What does transfer is the discipline: competitors measure obsessively, change one variable at a time, and log every result. If you take one habit from watching a finals lane, take that one, and apply it to your own sweeps.
