Cyrus Audio, the British brand long associated with compact, half-width electronics, is giving its newest amplification a public airing this weekend. The 80 PRE preamplifier and 80 PWR power amplifier are making their first public demo appearance at the North West Audio Show 2026, running June 27–28 in the Doug Brady HiFi room at the De Vere Cranage Estate in Cheshire, England.
For the demo, Cyrus is pairing the new 80 Series electronics with its own TTP turntable and 40 Series phono preamp, feeding a pair of DALI Epikore 3 floorstanding speakers. The company hasn't published full specifications or pricing for the 80 PRE/80 PWR pair yet — this is a hands-on preview rather than a retail launch, giving UK show-goers a first listen before Cyrus finalizes the rollout.
Why it matters for tuning: a new preamp-and-power-amp pairing is also a new gain-staging puzzle. Until Cyrus publishes input sensitivity and output specs for the 80 Series, anyone building a system around it should plan to re-run level matching and an RTA sweep once a unit is in hand — don't assume the EQ curve or crossover settings that worked with a previous amp will carry over cleanly to a different gain structure.
